Baby Brown is one of Germany’s most promising entertainers. In the last few years he has made a name for himself with his catchy songs and singles featuring big-name artists. We have interviewed Ali Arash Bagheri alias Baby Brown asking him to tell us something about himself, his music and his marketing strategy.
What makes you different from other artists?
I really cannot say, as I am not only an artist, but also the manager, president and CEO of my companies. I do everything by myself and I have been Baby Brown for 20 years. I am ambitious and I always try to get the most out of the things I do. I think my husky voice is what makes me extremely popular among friends and fans.
Is it important for you to sell your music digitally? How do your fans consume music?
I have fans all over the world; therefore, it is really important for me to sell my music online. My fans prefer to consume my music through streaming and download services or to listen to it live at my gigs.
Are social media and YouTube a big part of your music marketing strategy?
Yes, they are! My videos on YouTube have between 500,000 and 20,000,000 views, and the number of viewers continues to grow. This helps me promote my music and myself.
What are the most important sources of income for you as a professional musician? Online sales, CD sales or concert tickets?
All of them are important. I make good money selling digital music and concert tickets. I am happy with what I earn; my profits are rising and so do the ticket prices for my concerts – in some countries, they cost as much as a small car.
What is next?
I have six brand-new singles ready to be released this year, then I will probably release a new album or an EP. I have a lot of good music and surprises in store for next year, so stay tuned.
