In the first part of this series, we explained how to manage artists’ information through AllMusic and Rovi. In this second part, we will show you how to claim your artist page on Spotify, Apple Music and Beatport. Read further and find out more about all your benefits when claiming your artist profile.
SPOTIFY
You can claim your Spotify discography by getting verified. You no longer need to fill out a separate form to get verified – just get access to your profile in Spotify for Artists. Also, you no longer need 250 followers to get verified. Verification merges your discography with your user profile allowing you to share playlists directly with your fans. You will also be able to personalize your playlists with cover artworks and descriptions.
APPLE MUSIC
With Connect, you can claim your artist profile and customize your branding on Apple Music by adding photos, songs, promotional content, bios, videos that your fans can like and share via Facebook, Twitter and other social media. Go to iTunes Connect and select the type of content you would like to manage (choose “Artists”). Click “+” to request to manage your Apple Music artist account. Click ‘+’ again on the next screen and enter your iTunes Store artist page URL into the popup. Enter the iTunes Store link rather than your artist name prevent confusions. Select your role and fill out the requested fields. Then click “Done”. You will soon receive a confirmation email by Apple saying that once your submission is approved, you can and start updating your artist profile on Apple Music.
