Previously, you needed to submit your information to Rovi, the database managing music metadata for Spotify, iTunes, etc. if you wanted to manage your artist information. Now, you can edit and add your bio yourself within your Spotify for Artists account. As you already know, an artist bio can be an opportunity for you to promote your music and tell your story. In your Spotify bio, you can be creative and write up to 1500 characters – so you have a lot of space to tell your story. Let’s get down to the nitty gritty now – how to add or change your Spotify bio:
- Open Spotify for Artists, go to Profile and scroll down to the text field under Artist Bio.
- Write whatever you want, but make sure you follow Spotify’s guidelines.
- Add Spotify links into the text field or use @ to link whatever you want.
You can change your profile’s header image within your Spotify for Artists account but artist photos will be provided from the external database. Take a look at our cool Spotify promotion tools here.
