As you might have heard already, German collection society GEMA and YouTube have finally reached an agreement after years of negotiations and hostility. This is good news, because:
– GEMA members will earn money from the advertising on their videos.
– Music content can now be monetized and marketed in Germany.
– YouTube’s subscription service can be launched in Germany in the future.
– YouTube users in Germany will no longer see a blocking message on music videos.
